Tristan Thompson has been a mainstay in the news lately, and it has almost nothing to do with his professional NBA career. Instead, the Ontario-born basketball player continues to kiss media headlines thanks to his romantic affairs. And it now looks like Thompson is en route to expanding his role as a father, once again.
Tristan Thompson first became a father on December 12, 2016. According to x17online, the Chicago Bulls star’s ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig, gave birth to their son at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles around noon that day, and he was on hand to witness the delivery.
However, their son, whom the parents named Prince, was born while Tristan Thompson was already in a relationship with Khloe Kardashian. Soon, the NBA star was brought to court for child support, and a judge ordered him to pay $15,000 per month. However, that number nearly tripled in 2019.
According to a report from Radar Online, Tristan Thompson was ordered in May of 2019 to begin paying $40K in child support payments. In addition, he had to cough up $200K in back child support.
Interestingly, the publication reports that Jordan Craig gave an “emotional testimony” in which she claimed Tristan Thompson’s presence had been scarce in Prince’s life. She alleged that Thompson had only seen Prince “a total of 9 times” in two years, a claim that the NBA star challenged.
Eventually, it appeared that the former couple started to figure things out for their son. According to a US Weekly report, a source claimed that Tristan Thompson is “very involved” in his son Prince’s life. This can also be evidenced on the athlete’s Instagram page. As mentioned before, Tristan Thompson became a couple with reality star Khloe Kardashian in 2016. However, soon their relationship was riddled with infidelity accusations. But shortly after multiple cheating scandals arose, a pregnant Khloe Kardashian gave birth to the couple’s daughter.
On April 12, 2018, True Thompson was born. She would be the couple’s first child and the first for Khloe Kardashian. During an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she shared that she “wanted” for Thompson to be at the birth, despite the turmoil they were facing. However, she also said she didn’t want to react off of “temporary emotions” and ruin a “magical moment.”
Khloe Kardashian also echoed those sentiments in a tweet stating that she would never rob Tristan Thompson of the moment, regardless of the infraction. “She should not be punished for his actions,” wrote the reality star. “He is her father, and they both deserve to love one another as deeply as They possibly can.” Despite all that the media focused on surrounding Tristan Thompson and his cheating ways, Khloe Kardashian stood up for his parenting. “I still think he’s a great guy,” she said to Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. “He’s a great dad. He’s just not the guy for me.”
Tristan Thompson’s third time being a father didn’t seem to go as planned. In December 2021, news broke that the NBA Championship winner got his personal trainer, Maralee Nichols, pregnant. This would result in a tense court battle over child support, despite the baby not even being born at the time.
Stories were conflicting by both parties. Nichols claimed that the two were romantically involved for some time, even when he’d been with Khloe Kardashian. At the same time, Tristan Thompson shared that they were only intimate one night. Page Six reports that their baby was conceived on Thompson’s 30th birthday. Eventually, Tristan Thompson acknowledged that he was the father of Maralee Nichols’s son and that he looked forward to “amicably raising” their son. Contrary to his other two children, Maralee Nichols maintains Tristan has been absent from her son Theo’s life. A rep shared via Page Six that Thompson not only has made no attempts to meet his son, nor has he provided “financial assistance.”
According to recent reports, Tristan Thompson is about to be a father for the fourth time. It looks like he and Khloe Kardashian are about to be parents again, giving True a younger sibling. According to CNN, the baby was “conceived in November” via surrogate. A rep confirmed that their union is not intact while they are definitely having a child together. In addition, “Khloe is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing.”
Khloe Kardashian has been open about her pregnancy struggles and has also admitted wanting more children with Tristan Thompson. She shared during the Keeping Up With The Kardashians Reunion Special that they underwent the process before, but plans fell through. Khloe Kardashian joins her sister, Kim, who has two children via surrogacy, Chicago and Psalm.
As per anything that happens with the Kardashians, Khloe and Tristan’s news was met with much fan commentary.
